Zack Ward, Crisfield Maryland, nephewlarge original oil painting "Yellowlegs", signed by Zack 1988, measures 29" x 42", professionally framed, with accompanying poem displayed on back reading:

In the marshes surrounding Crisfield yellowlegs migrated here in the fall,
Gunners shot them by the hundreds even though it was against the law.
They shot them to feed their family that were poor but proud and very strong,
They considered these gunners outlaws, but they thought they did no wrong.
I hunted these birds myself not caring if I broke any rules,
It helped to feed my family, I did what I had to do.
I'll never shoot another one its not necessary any more,
It was just a way of life when I grew up on the Eastern Shore.
